Palacios-Laloy develops metastable helium-4 and alkali optically pumped magnetometers at CEA-Leti, including SERF-regime and vector configurations. His research characterises the noise and response of these sensors and optimises them for MEG and other sensing applications. He works at the interface of atomic-sensor physics and practical instrument design.
