Hadt's group designs molecular electron-spin qubits and elucidates the vibronic and structural origins of spin coherence, recently demonstrating all-optical initialization and readout of molecular spin coherence at room temperature - a route to chemically tunable molecular quantum sensors. For context, this complements the established paradigm of NV-diamond ensemble magnetometry (Hahn-echo/DEER, nanoscale NMR, T1 relaxometry) operating near pT/âHz sensitivity.
